Making paper aeroplanes

On Friday, we took advantage of the windy afternoon and flew our paper planes on the school field. We made our planes by following a simple procedure. If we carefully followed the steps, we were able to make a paper plane that flew really well when we launched them. We all worked together and helped each other if the paper folding got too hard!

What a great effort Paul!

This week's assembly award went to Paul Schaaf for showing our CARE values. Paul is always kind to others, is respectful and helpful. Well done Paul on a well deserved award.

Room 6 are the tidiest class in the school!

For the 3rd time (out of 4) this term, Room 6 have won the Tidy Kiwi award in assembly! If we keep this up, we will have to make the Tidy Kiwi a bed to sleep in as he is always in our classroom! Well done Room 6 for another great week of keeping our classroom area tidy and clear of rubbish!

Cool Tidy Kiwi kids!

Room 6 learning how to put letters together to make words.

Practising spelling words that we don't know...

We looked carefully at the picture of the object and said the word of the picture carefully. We then looked in the letters for the sound we could hear at the beginning of the word. This is known as the initial letter sound. Once we had the initial letter of the word, we tried to hear other sounds in the words. We found them in the magnetic letters and put them together to try and make a good attempt at spelling the words. We did an awesome job!
